ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE REFERENDUM OF 5TH JULY 2015
The Bakers of Athens, in following the example of the President of the Democracy Mr. Prokopis Pavlopoulos, who canceled his upcoming trip to Germany due to the non “friendly” attitude of Berlin, will cancel the formal visit of the Union with a large team of people, at the international exhibition IBA.DE which will take place in Monaco 12-17 September 2015 and we invite all Bakers from Greece and Cyprus to refrain from going as a demonstration of protest.
Greeks are proud people who have suffered much from their conquerors during the course of history and will not accept, under any circumstances, to lose their national dignity and pride.
We declare that we are completely against the loss of national dominance, like in the situation of Imia, as well as the improvisation of the country as it is attacked by the continuous imposition of new memoranda.
We ask from Germany and the other European countries to realize that our debt has grown larger through various tricks and we ask for the cancellation of part of it so that it will be rendered viable. We also ask for the obviation of the recessionary measures. We, the people of the market and real economy, have experienced the financial downfall of our country. As Bakers, throughout the crisis, we have proved our solidarity to the people of Greece, by offering our bread as a token of love and support.
Our decision will be revoked only if Germany and the other countries of the Euro zone show the required and self-evident respect for Greece.
Fellow colleagues, apart from the particular exhibition, we ask you to boycott the raw materials and ancillary materials which come from Germany and other countries of the Euro zone.
We ask and urge other professionals of similar or other professions to act immediately in the same manner.
Finally, we would like to inform colleagues and consumers that there is sufficiency of flour in the market and there is no danger of shortage.
Any fear which is created by groundless publications of the Mass Media is false.
We have the duty to inform our consumers in the right way so that the decision that is reached on Sunday will not be the aftereffect of unjustifiable panic.
Our country must not be destroyed! We have a historical responsibility to our ancestors who fought for us and our children.
